Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill 2018
April 12, 2018 – Noon – Hart Senate Office BuildingWithin Our Reach: #afinlitfutureThis year, Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on April 12 in the Hart Senate Office Building, Room 902. Hill Day is free and open to the public. For Hill Day announcements, follow us on Twitter using #FLHillDay2018. Hill Day features a buffet lunch, remarks by elected officials and other dignitaries, and more than 50 financial literacy exhibits by Jump$tart Coalition National Partners. Hill Day typically attracts more than 300 people including Members of Congress and their staffs, leaders of the financial literacy community, and members of the general public. Hill Day’s goal is to introduce Capitol Hill and the general public to the strides the Jump$tart Coalition and its partners have made in the financial literacy effort; to the most effective financial education programs and resources available now; and to the diversity of organizations and individuals who are working together toward shared goals. 2018 Honorary Co-Hosts:U.S. Sens. Tim Scott (R-SC) and Jack Reed (D-RI)Each year, Members of Congress serve as honorary hosts for the event. This year, we thank our honorary co-hosts U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and U.S. Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) and their staffs for their help with this event and their ongoing support of financial literacy. Jump$tart Coalition National Partners: Please direct any questions about your Hill Day exhibit to the Jump$tart headquarters office at info@jumpstart.org. We hope to see you there! Financial Literacy Day on Capitol Hill was introduced in 2003 in conjunction with the office of then U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-HI). Known in the financial literacy community simply as “Hill Day,” what began as a small gathering has grown into a public event attracting hundreds of participants. The location of the event alternates each year between the House of Representatives side and the Senate side of Capitol Hill. |
